the linksys 10/100 is not high performance....best i have seen is
~1.2Mbps.  the card is pccard (nee pcmcia) which is a 16 bit
interface, this may account for some of the slowness.  i have not used
any other 100baset pccards under FreeBSD so i can report any
comparsion numbers. ;(
