FreeBSD 2.0.5Release does not recognice the new Adaptec 2940 controller. I bought this controller from my local dealer just a couple of days ago, and they mention nothing about a new release of the hardware :-( My old ( ca 6months ) 2940 is OK. Info on the chips and pcb: AHA-2940/2940U (Assy 916506-01). (pcb) AHA-2940S76 W/AUTO, 948500-01 C, 9545. (chip) 589219-00 C, BIOS 2800, @ 1995. ( bios chip) I've also tried the AsusTek OEM 2940's and they work ok (both fast and fast/wide). Running this on brand new Intel ZP (Zappa)'s and AsusTek DualPent. and the new AsusTek P/I-P55TP4XE.
