For example you announce a new release but on the webpage I have no idea when that was. I can only tell by finding a mailing list announcement or external source. A good example https://www.freebsd.org/releases/11.2R/announce.html does have a page edit date at the bottom but that might not be the date of the announcement if the page was written or changed later.
