I believe that this port (which IS a dependency of xorg-server) should be the key. Have you cleaned up the mess created when all of the X11 *proto ports were merged into xorg-protos? Do orphaned ports sho0w up in the output of: pkg version -vL= If so and they are not compat ports, you have a problem in you database and may have a bunch of leftover cruft that might trigger this. See the UPDATING entry for 20180731 for instructions on dealing with this. Note that the compat ports appearing as orphaned is normal. They are not.
