A long time ago I had trouble with this kernel device. The removal of the apm0 device causes the boot to hang before the initial "Copyright (c) 1992-1997 FreeBSD Inc." mesg comes up. This "experimental" code might be expected to cause trouble when added. Why on earth would it cause trouble when removed? I am using 2.2.2-R. I am _not_ using a laptop.
