You should also see http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/bsd/2000/11/02/Big_Scary_Daemons.html which provides informations on configuring pcmcia cards.... About the Xircom question, there is a site dedicated to "Xircom and FreeBSD" where you can find many questions/answers to classic problems: http://ukug.uk.freebsd.org/~scott/xe_drv/ As far as I experienced, it seems that the Xircom cards like the irq 10... You should so set the irq 10 in the corresponding entry of your pccard.conf file.
