Hi, list, Sorry I haven't read the context, but ati driver doesn't work for me at all too. Display: ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 (Lenovo) > uname -srm FreeBSD 8.2-PRERELEASE i386 After use the default xorg.conf generated by `Xorg -configure`, my machine starts X by `startx &`, then xauth warms: file .xserverauth.xxxx does not exist then after entering tty9, screen becomes blank, no response at all, I have to press and hold the power botton to power down the machine then power machine again. This is the first time I try to use ati driver, radeonhd works fine, I have upgraded the port tress and all ports this morning. -- Regards, Yue Wu Key Laboratory of Modern Chinese Medicines Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine China Pharmaceutical University No.24, Tongjia Xiang Street, Nanjing 210009, China
