Hi Archimedes,

I love MIPS, like many of us l= ove some childhood toys :)
But I think we should not waste our free time= on something not popular.
Otherwise our love FreeBSD will become a chil= dhood toy.

Th= anks!

Thanks for your inputs, this is well noted, I= 'll try this out as well. I stumbled an article here https://www.bidouilliste.com/blog/2015/07/22/FreeBSD-on-= Olimex-RT5350F-OLinuXino/ though his using RT5350F chipset but the outc= ome is very similar to my DIR-600 RT3050F. After de= letion of MIPS support from the tree, interest in it grew :)

Ah okay, so th= at explains why I could no longer find mips directory source in the 14-CURR= ENT. Too bad I'm already at a dead-end :) but it's alright, maybe t= here were deeper reasons behind such decision. In my case, I'm reviving= an old DIR-600 which I bought 11 years ago. I attempted exploring flashing= different firmware at that time but fell short with support of this chipse= t because at the time, if I remember correctly, only Atheros-based chipsets= were popular and common with firmware support. So, I decided to keep it un= til 2 weeks ago I found and remembered this device again as someone is clea= ning my room and placing it into another location. I opened it again to che= ck what the chipset was, as I really forgot it. I also plugged the power ca= ble and found out that it is still operational. I searched the internet and= found some documentation and most especially the link howto from FreeBSD o= n compiling a kernel, so I decided to try again. So, that's the reason = why I'm here :) As I searched further online there were still modules a= vailable for sale that are using Ralink and Atheros chipsets. Maybe this is= the reason why interest is still growing.

Thanks = and best regards,
Archimedes
