Two issues have come to light with sysinstall. I initially selected the crypto distribution as one I wanted to install, but before comitting it, deselected it. sshd_enable="YES" was still written to the rc.conf file of the new install. This manifests itself during bootup as the following message: creating ssh RSA host key /usr/bin/ssh-keygen: command not found creating ssh DSA host key /usr/bin/ssh-keygen: command not found Perhaps rc.network should check for the existance of ssh-keygen before attempting to run it, even if sshd_enable="YES". The better solution would be to only enable sshd_enable if the crypto package is installed. Second problem with sysinstall: A bug means that it is difficult to install packages after the first installation. I went into sysinstall to install the crypto package, went to "OK" and nothing happens. The only way to get the package installed is to select other things first (I selected then deselected parts of X). I guess there is some flag which is not being set correctly when crypto is selected on its own, but is set when other packages are selected. I can test any patches.
