I tried it, but 3 of the patch files for VMWare 2.0.476 do not apply to the 2.0.1.559 distribution file. 1 out of 6 hunks failed--saving rejects to vmmon-only/common/memtrack.c.rej 1 out of 3 hunks failed--saving rejects to vmmon-only/common/phystrack.c.rej 1 out of 6 hunks failed--saving rejects to vmmon-only/common/vmx86.c.rej All seem trivial (patches for #includes) but I can see other less experienced users complaining that they are trying the new knob for 2.0.1 RC2, and it does not build.
