Luigi, it is not a laptop, it is a PC, can this still be the case ? on what grounds it affects one machine and not another when it is on the same port -i tried moving it to another port and the behavior was the same, however the other machine (freebsd with same NIC) works fine in either port my latest finding : telnet/pings to it still freeze even when i kept a ping running from its console, stopping it and restarting and everything resumed..
