Hi, it seems to me that an old bug is still in a recent 10.3: http://freebsd.1045724.x6.nabble.com/Intel-i915-GPU-hung-td5948161.html The situation was that I was watching a video with vlc, downloaded and making a backup. The machine was very busy but also still very responsive. After the GPU hung, I did not get any video output and the keyboard was off. I could power off the machine normally via the power button. The hardware is a 2nd generation mobile i7 in an X220.
