In this case it'd be easier to just remove /usr/src/sys and reinstall the src/ssys distribution from CD or FTP. Simply run `cd /usr/src; cat /path/to/ssys.* | tar xzf -' to extract. You didn't mention what version of FreeBSD you were running.
