It seems like the commit was based on sound technical analysis, data, and
testing, and the results have been a non-event.  Speaking with my core@ hat=
 on,
I see no reason to back out the commit.  Doing so would be to "prove a poin=
t",
which is not what this project should be about.  We need more people learni=
ng,
contributing, and growing the project, not barriers, slow-downs, and proced=
ural
paralysis.
