Hi. > When I am root I can run x windows fine but when I am not root I get the following > error. How could I go about fixing this ? Ok, first answer, look at the FAQ --> http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/faq/x.html#XFREE86-ROOT Second one --> There are 3 ways 1. The best --> install Xwrapper from the ports 2. Install kdm, gdm, xdm depends on what kind of X you are using (graphical login, no more "startx") 2. Set setuid bit to Xfree86 (bad, bad boy) hth Axel To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
