warner losh, et al, ok, this is what I have in my dmesg: pcic0: <Toshiba ToPIC97 PCI-CardBus Bridge> irq 3 at device 19.0 on pci0 pcic1: (same) So, to review, I have a toshiba libretto 100ct, and when I plug in two _identical_ 3c589 3com pcmcia cards (with the intention of creating an ethernet bridge) the first one comes up, but the second one produces that infamous error: no card in database for (null)((null)), etc. Since, supposedly, /etc/defaults/pccard.conf is deprecated in 4.4, I will not give you my settings from there, but I will show you what I have in rc.conf : pccard_enable="YES" pccard_mem="DEFAULT" pccard_flags=" -i 10 -i 15" removable_interfaces="ep0 ep1" Further, you may find it interesting to note that one 3com nic works find by itself, even if the second one is in the machine, or if the second pccard slot is filled with some other card. Both cards work independently, so it is not a defective hardware or defective pcmcia slot issue. thanks - let me know if you need any other info. --joesh _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-mobile" in the body of the message
