Hi ! I'm using a USB adapter to plug a HDD into my FreeBSD-4.8 box. If I boot with the device pluged-in, it works fine, but if I plug it in after boot or unplug then replug it, it doesn't work anymore (I get timeout errors). Here is some information about this device: from dmesg.boot: umass0: QTS USB 2.0 ATAPI Bridge, rev 2.00/11.00, addr 2 da0 at umass-sim0 bus 0 target 0 lun 0 da0: <IC35L120 AVV207-0 V24O> Fixed Direct Access SCSI-0 device da0: 650KB/s transfers da0: 117800MB (241254720 512 byte sectors: 64H 32S/T 52264C) from /var/log/messages: srv01 /kernel: (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): READ(6)/WRITE(6) not supported, increasing minimum_cmd_size to 10. Someone told me to try adding the device to da_quirk_table in src/sys/cam/scsi/scsi_da.c and recompiling, but I'm not sure how to add the thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
