OK; from README.LUIGI: device pcmX at isa ? port? tty irq N drq D flags F vector pcmintr device midiX at isa ? port? tty flags F device synthX at isa ? port? tty flags F ok, to have a self centered, concrete example: i have a PAS-16, it has a pseudo-midi port ( non mpu401 ), it has a 8bit soundblaster on it, it has an opl3 on it, and it has it's own little Mediavision PAS-16 chip. i have a turtle beach maui, it is a wavetable synthesizer, and it is accessed via the midi port as near as i can figure. it has a true midi mpu401 interface. but it has a synthesizer. ok, now how would i split these guys up into the 3 categories? tnx! john ******************************************************************************* John Utz spaz@u.washington.edu idiocy is the impulse function in the convolution of life
