This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0021_01BE0F55.0240F1C0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi,=20 I've followed the instructions on my online handbook and configured User = PPP. I'm a typical home user with dynamically allocated IP addresses. Anyway, when I try to start a straight-forward ppp connection (I've not = included any "auto" options etc yet) to my local ISP (by typing "dial = ISP" at the ppp prompt) I get error/warning messages like: add route = failed; 0.0.0.0:errno:network is unreachable; DialModem:dial failed. Any ideas? I've included my main ppp configuration file /etc/ppp/ppp.conf below. = For the sake of brevity I've not included my other files (though I've = double checked them as well - if you want I can supply these?). /etc/ppp/ppp.conf:- default: set device /dev/cuaa0 set speed 115200 set dial "ABORT BUSY ABORT NO\\sCARRIER TIMEOUT 5 \"\" ATE1Q0 OK-AT-OK = \\dATDT\\T TIMEOUT 40 CONNECT" ISP: set phone "08451422000" set login "TIMEOUT 10 gin:-BREAK-gin: ghulam word: ghu1am col:ppp" set timeout 120 deny lqr=20 set ifaddr 10.0.0.1/0 10.0.0.2/0 255.255.255.0 0.0.0.0 delete ALL add 0 0 HISADDR ------=_NextPart_000_0021_01BE0F55.0240F1C0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

<META content=3Dtext/html;charset=3Diso-8859-1 = http-equiv=3DContent-Type> <META content=3D'"MSHTML 4.71.1712.3"' name=3DGENERATOR>

<FONT face=3D"Courier New" size=3D2>
Hi,

I've followed the instructions on my online handbook and configured = User PPP.=20 I'm a typical home user with dynamically allocated IP addresses.

Anyway, when I try to start a straight-forward ppp connection (I've = not=20 included any "auto" options etc yet) to my local ISP (by = typing=20 "dial ISP" at the ppp prompt) I get error/warning messages = like: add=20 route failed; 0.0.0.0:errno:network is unreachable; DialModem:dial = failed.

Any ideas?

I've included my main ppp configuration file /etc/ppp/ppp.conf below. = For the=20 sake of brevity I've not included my other files (though I've double = checked=20 them as well - if you want I can supply these?).

/etc/ppp/ppp.conf:-

default:

set device /dev/cuaa0

set speed 115200

set dial "ABORT BUSY ABORT NO\\sCARRIER TIMEOUT 5 \"\" = ATE1Q0=20 OK-AT-OK <A href=3D"file://\\dATDT\\T">\\dATDT\\T TIMEOUT 40 = CONNECT"

ISP:

set phone "08451422000"

set login "TIMEOUT 10 gin:-BREAK-gin: ghulam word: ghu1am=20 col:ppp"

set timeout 120

deny lqr

set ifaddr 10.0.0.1/0 10.0.0.2/0 255.255.255.0 0.0.0.0

delete ALL

add 0 0 HISADDR

------=_NextPart_000_0021_01BE0F55.0240F1C0-- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
