Having dos emulation has made life considerably easier for me in that I have to run Turbo Pascal to do home-work in one of my courses that I'm studying. I don't have to reboot every time I want to do some home-work. :-) > WINE or Wabi (or similar) is the way to go, it seems. I suppose that depends on what you want to do with with the emulator. I'm trying to move away from Windoze applications so wine/wabi isn't MY cup of tea but I think that each emulator is useful in it's own way. What do (or did) you want to use doscmd for?
