This is a pretty general question I think. How can I make use of utilities such as kdm, gdm, or even xdm without having to see the console on the lower right hand side of the screen. Specifically, when kdm, gdm, or xdm loads, I see the login screen but I also see the console on the lower right of the screen. I can't imagine that this is normal as I don't see the console screen when running any of these login managers in linux. I'm currently running these login managers via /etc/ttys, is that proper or is that the cause of the problem. Thanks.
