Well, if you have problems with _FreeBSD_, then you still didnt give enough information to actually work out what the problem you're having is, and therefore how to fix it. However, I'll take a guess and ask whether you have compiled in the SYSV semaphore code into your kernel. Check LINT for the relevant options.
