I've installed KDE 3.1 and I'm using the NVIDIA drivers with X. At, what seems to me like, totally random times, the system locks up hard and needs to be switched off and on again to work. I know the Nvidia drivers doesn't support 5.0, but if I use the regular NV drivers i get a 2cm wide black line on the right side of my screen... At first I thought it had to be something with the GL drivers, but the lockups happen at a different place each time. The only thing they seem to have in common is that they happen when I exit an application. One time it was the screensaver setup, yesterday it was Knode (the news reader) and earlier today after it had been working great for 14 hours of doing nothing, it was when i closed opera... AFAIK it only happens in X. I'm don't really think anyone can help me with this and suspect I just have to wait until new drivers arrive, but if someone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them. Wether it means changing to different drivers and dropping GL support or changing the current ones, as long as it works, thats the most important part :) I've gotten everything to work so if I can just get it stable and manage to make samba work nicely, I can delete the winX partition. - Aslak .______________ ___ _________. \__ ___/ | \/ _____/ | It's a simple question!
