This box is a 500MHz Athlon with 512Megs ram Running -Current from friday. Anyway one of the interfaces (ep0) just freezes under heavy traffic. The nic works fine for weeks under medium load. The logs don't show any particular error (except network down) and bringing the nic down and back up cures the problem for a short time. I have tried several cards and they all do the same thiing. The box seems to be runing out of resources. I really need to cure this problem and any pointers would be appreciated. This problem has been going on for months, so I don't suspect a problem with -current. ifconfig shows the following: ep0: flags=8843 mtu 1500 inet 24.237.XX.XXnetmask 0xfffff000 broadcast 24.237.XX.XX inet6 fe80::260:8ff:fe03:d506%ep0 prefixlen 64 tentative scopeid 0x4 ether 00:60:08:03:d5:06 media: Ethernet 10baseT/UTP TIA, Beech ------------------------------------------------------------------- Beech Rintoul - IT Manager - Instructor - akbeech@anchoragerescue.org /"\ ASCII Ribbon Campaign | Anchorage Gospel Rescue Mission \ / - NO HTML/RTF in e-mail | P.O.
