The handbook can seem a little vague/confusing at first but once you get used to it, for the most part it gives you all you need to know. I started out with the book FreeBSD an Open Source Operating System for Your Personal Computer. I had successfully installed FreeBSD before that, but it wasn't till I read that book that I was able to turn it into a useful system. After that I went back to the handbook and read through the parts I had going and it started to make sense to me, now it's my main FreeBSD text, because it's in there. Also the book The Complete FreeBSD has prouven to be very useful, and would recommend it for some network information. I'm currently reading through it and the other sources, because I want to set up a gateway/router/firewall/desktop. Wow 3Mbps!!! That would make ftp installs really nice, I have cable here too and thought I was being spoiled when we were offered 1Mbps. In my humble opinion, the ftp install is the only way to go, you get all the latest goodies. Well keep us informed, I would like to hear about your progress. -- Lute ************************ * Power Provided * * by * * FreeBSD 5.1 RELEASE * ************************
