I appreciate those of you who tried to help me before but it seems nothing
has worked as of yet. So I am asking the group as a whole again for fresh
ideas.

I have a CDROM downloaded from ftp://ftp.freebsd.org I have used the
makeflp.bat file to create the two install disks labeled kernel and mfsroot.
I was told previously that some copies of the cdrom used the boot.flp to
make the disks but I have determined that mine is not that way and does
indeed use the kern.flp then the msfroot.flp files individually.

Now when I try to boot off these disks things seem normal. The kernel disk
goes through its process and displays what to me is crypic codes but seems
to be doing what it should. After a bit the computer sounds the system
speaker beep for 2 seconds or so and displays a message to insert the
mfsroot disk and press enter. I do this and it reads the disk while a /
spins to to inform me its working. This goes on for about 30 seconds then I
get the following message which I am told is not normal part of the setup.

Hit [Enter] to boot immediately, or any other key for command prompt.
Booting kernel in xx seconds...

it counts down from 9 seconds then initiates a full restart of the system.
Normally the mfsroot disk is still in there which my computer finds
unbootable. If I place the kernel disk in before the 9 seconds is complete
the whole process stated above is repeated in exact detail. If I press any
other key to abort I get a command prompt of sorts that tells me to press ?
for a list of commands. I pressed ? and found some very basic commands that
lead me nowhere.

If anyone there can help me please....Otherwise I will have to search out
another OS with features of BSD....and it took me years to find this
one....not sure if there are others out there than can do what I need.....I
have long since given up on MS ever making something I can use.

Thanks
