Every hour or so I get the following in my /var/log/messages: Jun 5 09:26:13 demon /kernel: ad2: UDMA ICRC READ ERROR blk# 721135 retrying Jun 5 09:26:13 demon /kernel: ad2: UDMA ICRC READ ERROR blk# 721695 retrying Jun 5 09:26:13 demon /kernel: ad2: UDMA ICRC READ ERROR blk# 722031 retrying Jun 5 09:26:13 demon /kernel: ad2: UDMA ICRC READ ERROR blk# 722367 retrying Jun 5 09:26:13 demon /kernel: ad2: UDMA ICRC READ ERROR blk# 786671 retrying Jun 5 09:26:13 demon /kernel: ad2: UDMA ICRC READ ERROR blk# 786671 retrying Jun 5 09:26:13 demon /kernel: ad2: UDMA ICRC READ ERROR blk# 788015 retrying Jun 5 09:26:13 demon last message repeated 2 times Jun 5 09:26:13 demon /kernel: ad2: UDMA ICRC READ ERROR blk# 788015ata1-master: WARNING: WAIT_READY active=ATA_ACTIVE_ATA Jun 5 09:26:13 demon /kernel: falling back to PIO mode then i ran the following: [root@demon /sbin]# fsck -f /dev/ad2s1e ** /dev/ad2s1e (NO WRITE) ** Last Mounted on /ad2 ** Phase 1 - Check Blocks and Sizes ** Phase 2 - Check Pathnames ** Phase 3 - Check Connectivity ** Phase 4 - Check Reference Counts ** Phase 5 - Check Cyl groups 4691 files, 148820 used, 4678063 free (1615 frags, 584556 blocks, 0.0% fragmentation) [root@demon /sbin]# So i'm assuming that the hard drive passed or something. Am i missing some better command to have it do an entire search? Any other ideas what might be going on? Any help would be appreciated. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ```'' B r i a n B u d n i c k (._.) dreamboy@aros.net (_) ArosNet Systems Administration Dept. `---' (801) 532-2767 He who chases a car will get exhausted...
