The keyboard work well in installation process (floppy install), then I reboot. Keyboard work fine at the boot manager but died as soon FreeBSD is booted. The hardware is IBM xSeries 335. I can confirm that problem with both 5.1 and 5.2.1. The keyboard work flawlessly under Freebsd 4.10 and OpenBSD 3.5. The keyboard is detected on isa0 on the working system and on acpi0 the the non-working system. 4.10 atkbdc0: at port 0x60,0x64 on isa0 atkbd0: flags 0x1 irq 1 on atkbdc0 kbd0 at atkbd0 5.2.1 atkbdc0: port 0x60,0x64 irq 1 on acpi0 atkbd0: flags 0x1 irq 1 on atkbdc0 atkbd: unable to set the command byte. dmesg from 4.10 (working) and 5.2.1 (not working) bellow. *** Freebsd 4.10 *** #uname -a FreeBSD trinity3.xxx.xxx. 4.10-RELEASE FreeBSD 4.10-RELEASE #0: Tue May 25 22:47:12 GMT 2004 root@perseus.cse.buffalo.edu:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC i386 #dmesg Copyright (c) 1992-2004 The FreeBSD Project.
