The machine is running 4.4-RELEASE and X is 4.1.0. The video card is: pci0: at 4.0 I think my only problem is I haven't got the monitor config right in X86Config so I was hoping someone already had a working version I could snaffle. If not... I generated a config wih xf86config and have tried adding the Modelines found at http://www.kegel.com/linux/toshiba220cds.html as well as fiddling with all the options but X wont run. Running startx produces a lot of output concluding with: Fatal server error: Caught signal 10. Server aborting Looking through the log the only thing I can see that doesn't look right is: (II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/libddc.a (II) Module ddc: vendor="The XFree86 Project" compiled for 4.1.0, module version = 1.0.0 ABI class: XFree86 Video Driver, version 0.4 (II) Loading sub module "ddc" (II) LoadModule: "ddc" (II) Reloading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/libddc.a f000:bddc: 01 ILLEGAL EXTENDED X86 OPCODE! I'm not sure if thats the problem or not. I've put up the entire log at http://www.ugh.net.au/~andrew/tmp/XFree86.0.log.
