I have found it's best to connect to the database you want to grant the privileges on before issuing the GRANT command. This doesn't seem to be the way it's documented, but it works for me. You might also consider using passwords... mysql>\u wikidb mysql>GRANT ALL on wikidb.* to wikiuser@localhost IDENTIFIED BY 'password'; mysql>\u mtdb mysql>GRANT ALL on mtdb.* to mtuser@localhost IDENTIFIED BY 'password'; Peter. -- the circle squared network systems and software http://www.circlesquared.com
