To: questions@freebsd.org Date: Tue, 12 Aug 1997 01:03:55 +0200 (MESZ) X-Mailer: ELM [version 2.4ME+ PL31H (25)] MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: owner-freebsd-questions@freebsd.org X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk Hi, when I try to mount a directory from a linux box (S.u.S.e, 2.0.xx kernel) which is exported only to our network (*.mep.ruhr-uni-bochum.de), the mount succeeds, but subsequent accesses return `permission denied'. (I tried -o noconn and/or -o nfsv2.) Furthermore, I'm not able to umount (-f) the FS in question without rebooting my machine (running FBSD 2.2.2). While we are at it: Is there any hope that one will sometime be able to (forcibly) umount a FS whose server died (e.g. an exported CDROM which was removed meanwhile) or is this intended by NFS ?
