Dear experts, I am running FreeBSD4.1-stable and sendmail-8.11.0 Just noticed, that very rarely (once in 2 months, sometime in a few days) may maillog contains a line like Aug 26 18:53:58 <mail.info> mailwrapper[30923]: can't open /etc/mail/mailer.conf, using /usr/libexec/sendmail/sendmail as default MTA Emergence of this line does not correlate with upgrades and reboots of the system, nor with updates of sendmail. The content of /etc/mail/mailer.conf is: # $FreeBSD: src/etc/mail/mailer.conf,v 1.2 1999/12/29 18:24:06 peter Exp $ # # Execute the "real" sendmail program, named /usr/libexec/sendmail/sendmail # sendmail /usr/libexec/sendmail/sendmail send-mail /usr/libexec/sendmail/sendmail mailq /usr/libexec/sendmail/sendmail newaliases /usr/libexec/sendmail/sendmail The permissions are as follows: -rw------- 1 root wheel - 316 Mar 31 04:15 mailer.conf Is this normal and what might be a reason of this? Thank you for any comment ahead of time. Sergei To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
