Make sure you're running dump with the u option.
> dump -0auf /dev/wt0 /
^ hm, well, there it is.
Check the fstab(5) man page -- there are some flags you have to set in
/etc/fstab to enable dump tracking. Also check perms on /etc/dumpdates.
