Are you using xcin at the same time? What about your locale setting? I use American English, and haven't seen a problem. Franz Klammer is using German, and he can get into GNOME, though GNOME 2 with anti-aliasing is a bit problematic when running on multiple displays. However, if gnome_segv is being invoked, perhaps you have a problem elsewhere. Do you see anything on the console indicating a core dump?=20 Perhaps you're missing a library.
