I'd like to reply to my own mail, as M. Smith cleared this up on the -stable list, and
someone reading this mail here might get confused:

The problem are the unsafe ownership/permissions of /usr/local/majordomo. The solution
I used was to copy the alias file over to /etc (you may choose /usr/local/etc also).

(Also don't forget to restart sendmail after the newaliases)
