An initial step to improving this situation is to gather the community's collective experience with hardware and publish a guide with aggregated, anonymous results. That's the idea with this survey: https://forms.gle/Es7Lwu4xYGde74dJ7 (Note that the survey asks for your email only in the event we have follow-up questions). Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and share it wherever you think is appropriate.
