Thanks for the response.  I've deleted the ports which were  
complaining, installed misc/ldconfig_compat by hand, and now  
portupgrade is willing to proceed.  I sure wish that using "pkgdb -F"  
made more sense than it currently does...it seems to be rather fragile.
