All, Memory timing settings that seem to work with NT and Linux don't (at least in my system) with FreeBSD. Tweaked the settings (didn't even re-seat the SIMMs or anything) and it all works now, kernel compilations while doing a zillion other things etc, nae bother. FreeBSD is now rock-solid. Maybe this info will be useful to someone.
