Actually, it's not really GPL'ed, and in fact its license status is 
extremely dubious, as it contains BSD code (the TCP/IP stack) which 
conflicts with the GPL.  There is also a specific clause in the license 
which waives the linkage pollution avenue.

This is one of the bad things about RTEMS. 8(
