i assume you have it downloaded and built from the ports rather than
building/installing it from the 5.2 CD? i have never had _any_ success
getting StarOffice 5.2 (from the CD) to install and run in FreeBSD 4.X-S
but i suppose it would (although i havent tried it yet) work from the
ports.

StarOffice 5.1[a] works great, yes. 5.2, well, like i mentioned above,
does not.
