In order to install freebsd, I need to put the necesary files on a dos partition on my hardisk( or, at least i am under that impression). Once thisis done, I run istall.exe on the cd. The Freebsd kernel boots from the cd and when prompted for what medium to install freebsd, I select dos partition. I do not have enough room on the dos partition to include the ports collection or any of the packaged software, So, my question is: If I just copy the packages that I want to the dos partition, will I be able to install them in the post install configuration? Alternatively, I would like to install from a cd but freebsd does not recognize my cd drive b/c it is a parallel port drive. Any sugestions on solving the problem of making the system recognze the drive? Freebsd supports a parallel por interface for zip drives could that help? Any suggestions or pointers to more indepth info would be much appreciated. Thanks, Chris.
