I misinterpreted the man page, and after cvsuping latest src's I recompiled the kernel. Now everything is fine. dmesg reports 80 Meg transfers. BTW, I am not using the ncr driver so it ignores options SYM_SETUP_LP_PROBE_MAP=0x40 Once again all is right in jolly land. "Joseph E. It was detected by the ncr driver and not getting the correct transfer rate. I checked the kernel config file and comment out the following: device ncr # NCR/Symbios Logic options SYM_SETUP_LP_PROBE_MAP=0x40 Recompiled the kernel and it was correctly detected by the sym driver. Try it and see if it works for you.
