I then: 1) Enter /stand/sysinstall and go to post install configuration 2) Go to the partition editor 3) Select the drive (in this case wd1) 4) There is nothing but FreeBSD on the box so choose 'use entire disk' 5) [W]rite the changes 6) [Q]uit leaving MBR untouched 7) Enter disk label editor 8) Choose [C]reate, use entire drive, tell it it's a file system, enter mount point /mountpointname (mount point exists on wd0 as /mountpointname 9) Partition editor now says Part | Mount | Size | Newfs wd1s1e | /mountpointname | 8058MB | UFS Y 10) Choose [W]rite 11) Error message as follows: "Error mounting /dev/wd1s1e on /mountpointname : Invalid argument" When I initially created the partition I choose not to make it compatable with anoy other OS - it's a storage drive for a FreeBSD only machine so I figured that was the better option. After going through this a couple of times I tried choosing a 'true' partition entry - no joy. This is all being done as root, the mount point directory is rwxr-xr-x, What did I miss or do wrong? I'm not subbed to this list so email directed to this address on the question is appreciated.
