Ken,

the instructions i posted built xulrunner, and it seems to work as well (and 
as poorly) as the 1.8.0.4 version.

on my system, /usr/X11R6/lib/xulrunner contains the three libraries you are 
missing:

gregtx: {64} ls -l /usr/X11R6/lib/xulrunner | egrep 
"libmozjs.so|libxpcom.so|libxul.so"
-rwxr-xr-x  1 root  wheel    1893339 Nov 29 15:19 libmozjs.so*
-rwxr-xr-x  1 root  wheel      26319 Nov 29 17:08 libxpcom.so*
-rwxr-xr-x  1 root  wheel  119275323 Nov 29 17:08 libxul.so*

and as they all seem fairly new, i assume they were built and installed by the 
1.8.1.3 port.  are they there on your system?
