Hi, I'm having a problem setting up Netatalk and it's sister papd for Macintosh to access a printer on my box. I don't seem to be lucky on the netatalk list because they speak only about Linux. Netatalk is running and I see the message: Oct 28 15:02:23 poeza papd[277]: register poeza:LaserWriter@* Now papd.conf does not exist in /usr/local/etc/ but the one I find in the systems says this: # On many systems (notably not Solaris), no papd.conf is required, # since papd shares the same defaults as lpd. And for sure papd runs without me meddling to have one in /usr/local/etc/ but the moment I try one papd starts to complain. My questions are: o Where does papd get the info about the Laserwriter since I do not have that in my printcap, which is used by lpd? o Why does it not use my printcap? Here is a test.. [wash@poeza:~]> papstatus -p LaserWriter LaserWriter:LaserWriter@*: NBP Lookup failed o Does anyone have a working setup on 4.1- STABLE that I can borrow from?? All help will be highly appreciated.
