We have tens of other vendors that have been supporting FreeBSD for much longer and have more established track records. It wouldn't be a pretty sight if every vendor spammed our technical lists like this. 10% of $5 is completely insignificant and only if the spamming is wildly successful will it even amount to enough to fund a few hours of a FreeBSD developer's time. There's nothing wrong with his post to announce@, but in many ways the whole "donating to the foundation.." line has been a disservice to this community. The foundation is just one small part of how companies can support FreeBSD, and as Warner mentioned, many that claim to send them money never in fact do so. http://www.freebsdmall.com/cgi-bin/fm/history.html http://www.freebsdmall.com/cgi-bin/fm/community.html - Murray --dkEUBIird37B8yKS Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iD8DBQE/b1b1tNcQog5FH30RAt28AJ9UpFmY4mX+JT86eO2miFo0HqGGVwCfYSuz W4rzFJ0mBmJnaz0zf1VgD/Y= =GsLt -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --dkEUBIird37B8yKS--
