How can it be verified if it's required or not?  Even if you can prove it's
not now, what about the next releases?  Instead of having to constantly keep
track and check if shlib version is "required", I would suggest simply
making it standard practice and always specify it.  It also helps to find
ports that were forgotten to get updateD after shlib bumps in dependency.

P.S.  For dependency on x11-fonts/libXft you should have used USE_XORG=xft I
guess.
