How long is your SCSI bus cable, BTW ? Did you add devices lately ? Have you tried to boot a kernel built with: options "SCSI_NCR_MAX_SYNC=0" just to be sure it's not a problem with cables or termination ? I'm currently working on the PCI and NCR code and will stay for a few more hours. I really would like to get this resolved rather soon ...
