Hi, I experienced some strange effects when using "showmount -e server", where "server" is a 2.2-RELEASE machine. I have also running another 2.2-RELEASE box together with a couple of IRIX 5.3, HP-UX 9.05, SunOS 4.1.3, FreeBSD 2.1.7 machines on the same network. 1. When doing a "showmount -e other_machine" ON the server, where other_machine is one of the above, everything works. 2. When doing a "showmount -e server" ON any of the other machines, everything works also. 3. When doing a "showmount -e server" ON the machine server, showmount hangs until it is killed with CTRL-C. 4. When doing a "showmount -e other22" ON the other 2.2-RELEASE machine everything works again. So the problem is, that showmount -e doesn't work on ONE particular 2.2-RELEASE machine. One important difference between the two 2.2s is, that the affected box has three ethernet card. Does anybody know what's going on here? As it might be important, I include the dmesg output of the bad machine... Thanks for any hints... -Andre Copyright (c) 1992-1996 FreeBSD Inc.
