I've seen this happen when perl was upgraded on a couple of servers I have=
 some web sites on (happened to be redhat so I don't think bsd is part of=
 the issue), formmail stopped sending mails but otherwise didn't come up=
 with any complaints when run. To solve it I updated formmail but I never=
 got an answer to what causes the problem when earlier versions are run with=
 newer perl. The ISP who owns the servers told me to upgrade formmail when=
 they noticed the old versions stopped working when they did the perl upgrad=
e.
